FDLE Arrests Cantonment Resident for Possession, Transmission of Child Sexual Abuse Materials

CANTONMENT, Fla. – The Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) arrested Michael Hall, Jr, 30, of Cantonment, for possession of child sexual abuse material, transmission of child sexual abuse material, and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. The arrest is part of FDLE’s statewide initiative to identify and apprehend offenders who target children and share files depicting child sexual abuse.
The investigation began when agents received a cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), reporting that an unknown user uploaded files containing images depicting the sexual abuse of children to a social media account. Agents traced the associated IP address to Hall’s residence.
On Sept. 10, 2026, agents served a search warrant at Hall’s residence. During an interview, Hall admitted that he had downloaded child sexual abuse material and transmitted it to another user through his social media account. Hall also identified some of the child sexual abuse material that was recovered from his social media account as being the files he sent to the other user.
Hall was charged with 11 counts of possession of child sexual abuse material, eight counts of transmission of child sexual abuse material, and one count of unlawful use of a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony. Hall was booked in the Escambia County Jail.
FDLE’s Special Operations Team, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office, Office of Agriculture Law Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, and Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted with the search warrant. The Office of the State Attorney, 1st Judicial Circuit, is prosecuting the case.
The investigation remains active.
